Diego

Keira is limited to a certain amount of TV time. In the mornings is when she is allowed to watch the Disney Channel/Nick. The rest of the day I like to stimulate her brain in other ways ie:books, playground, park, pet store, coloring books, etc...you get the idea. Yesterday evening, we were driving home from the park and she said to me in the car "Mommy...book poor fa four" I turned and asked her "Keira. what did you say?" She repeated "Mommy...book poor fa four" (her way of saying porfavor...aka-please) I couldn't help but to burst out laughing. I asked her "Keira, where did you hear that?" Her response "Diego...da da Diego" There is a show on Nick with a little boy named Diego. He teaches his viewers how to talk in both English and Spanish. I was sooo impressed that she remembered how to say it correctly (for the most part) and the context of it. She wanted Mommy to give her a book please. haha. Here are some pictures that I took of her today watching her "Spanish Teacher" Senor Diego. She loves him so much.

"Shoe...Bye Bye"

Whenever it is time to leave the house, I tell Keira "Okay missy-go get your shoes so we can go Bye-Bye" The past couple of weeks she runs to our shoe pile next to our door and looks up at me and says "Mommy..shoe go Bye bye" For some reason she never wants to put her shoes on. Then we have to go through the struggle of me taking off my sandals and putting on her sandals. She then complains "Mommy...no dat no my shoe!" Oh the joys of parenthood. The only times that I ever allow her to go anywhere with my shoes on is when we go on our daily walks around the complex. She walks from our apartment to our car where her stroller is, then I plop her in it. We have been given some weird looks from our neighbors when they see her with my shoes on...I'm sure they think we are white trash! haha..But I don't care, if it keeps her quiet for the time being and if she is just sitting in her stroller, she can keep them on.

Some of Keira's Many Expressions...

"Huh????"

"I'm innocent, I swear.."

"Can you get that darn camera out of my face!"

Nap Time

When Keira was first born she would "froggy" up. That is what Jon and I called it where she would suck her legs up close to her body, thus looking like a frog. Not much has changed. When ever she goes down for a nap or down for bed this is how she looks. I can remember sleeping like that when I was a little girl-except I would have my butt up in the air...Yesterday when I went into her room to wake her up from her nap, she was in her normal "froggy" position and snoring away. I still smile when I see her comfortably lying down like this.

After her naps she is in a BAD mood (another thing she takes after her mommy) She kicks, screams, and whines. However, after she is done throwing her tantrum then she is miss snuggles. She is clingy to me for a good 30 minutes and I'm not complaining. I'll take any sort of hugs or loving attention from her. Take whatever you can get. Right?!?

Ben & Jerry's

I couldn't remember the last time that just Keira and I went out for some ice cream. I'm guessing it's been over a year. So yesterday I decided that after dinner at home, we would go on a little date. She loved every single spoon full. Each time she put some in her mouth she would say "yummmm....emmmmm.....good!!!" She takes after her mama-she loves her some nice/cold ice cream.

(Don't mind the messy face...she was enjoying her treat!)

Presenting Nox

Okay folks...I know you all were just dying to see her. Well ladies and gentlemen please put your hands together for "Nox"

Nox..

I've been meaning to put some pictures up of our new car. Yes, you heard me right...Jon and I bought our first car! We already have a Mitsubishi Galant, but she was a hand me down. We love her and she has served our family well. However on the move from Washington to Vegas she was having some problems. I was scared to drive her and I knew that she is no longer able to drive long distances. She is getting older and it was time to just have her become a "around town" car. She still works but we realized that we needed something reliable and safe so if heaven forbid something happened to her, we would have peace of mind knowing that we have another car to get around. So about 2 1/2 weeks ago we got a 2006 Chevrolet Equinox. She is soooo precious and my baby!!!!! We having named her Nox...Short for Equinox..Get it? haha...Keira and I LOVE being able to get out and go places! I've noticed that I'm a much happier person because I'm not inside all day long. We are able to get out and be amongst the living..haha...So like I said, I will take some pictures of her and I'll post some later. Just wanted to give the quick update...We are officially adults! We bought our first car! Yipee for us!!!

sweet memories....

It seems like just yesterday that our Keira was born. She is now 2 and becoming smarter and smarter as the days roll by. It's amazing to see your baby grow and develop. I remember when she was smaller, I just couldn't wait for her to start crawling, walking, saying her first word, or to call out for me...And now that she has accomplished all of this and then some; I want my baby back. (Not that I don't enjoy and love her now) I realize that this is a fact of life but I miss those days of holding her for hours, having to hold the bottle in her little mouth and how she would stare at me with such love, trust, and innocence. Aahhh....So for you mother's out there that are soo excited for your little wee babes to grow up, cherish the time you have with them now. You'll miss it tremendously. It is fun to see them become more independent but it's hard as a parent to see that they are no longer babies and that they no longer need you for everything. We love our Keira. She has brought such happiness and pure joy to our lives and to this family. I'm proud of who she is as a little person. She has showed both Jon and I that she is a strong & determined person. I know she will be successful in anything she does.
